It's a pretty hard decision to leave behind the name that people usually always refer to you as, and your presence on social media applications especially if you use them a lot on a daily basis. I decided to take this decision a few days ago as of writing this, my social media accounts have been deactivated or gone inactive for the websites that only have options to delete/erase accounts. For example, my Discord, Bluesky, TikTok and Instagram profiles are gone, but my Reddit and Twitter accounts are inactive (small exception is the latter, which I have started the account deletion process for). I will retain the same name on games and gaming-based platforms like Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Nintendo Network and Steam to remain in communication with other people, but don't expect an answer if you try to contact me on any other social media platform. You may be asking yourself on why I took this path, and the main reason is self improvement. Overtime I started to realize that I don't think I'm that great of a person, and I mainly act like an idiot, making a fool of myself, atleast from my point of view. I want people to generally perceive me as a cool guy that can be trusted. So far, I think it's working. Another reason is also mental stability, overtime I have felt a bit unstable mentally from being hooked on socials all the time, and I'm hoping this detox process is gonna help me to get better down the line. I also want to give a second chance to anybody I unfriended without reason, so if you are one of these people, send me a friend request on Steam. If I decline your request, re-send it, because I may mistake you for a scam account.
At the moment, I still don't know if I want to leave my name behind permanently, so for now, I'm just gonna say that this leave is indefinite. I don't know when I'm going to return to these platforms, but it will most likely be when I feel mentally stable enough and ready to go back.
I'd like to thank you for reading this.
